Tarte Shape Tape Contour Concealer: First Impressions + Review + Swatches

Hello lovlies! Welcome back! I have a super exciting blog post to share with you today. After many many months of waiting and hearing about everyone raving over this product, I finally decided to purchase the Tarte Shape Tape Contour Concealer! This is only available at Ulta and online unfortunately that’s why I had such an hard time trying to purchase this from Canada! But I bought it from Tarte Cosmetics and luckily they had free shipping when I bought it, so I would suggest waiting for a good deal. PLUS no custom charges! It retails for $31CAD which is the equivalent to the USD pricing.

When I first received the package it was so cute, they even included unicorn themed wrapping paper. I ordered the shade light sand and you can choose your shade based on the descriptions they have on their site. I think mine is a little too light, but oh well I can make it work. It came in this purple packaging and the tube it self is completely adorable! The applicator is a doe-foot applicator and makes its really easy to apply. Below is a swatch of the shade so if you’re medium skin-tonned like myself, I would recommend a shade a tiny bit darker. For reference I am an NC35.

I tried it for the first time today and let me tell you, a little goes a long way! The consistency is super thick, but it does not feel heavy on the skin at all and it is really full coverage, and it blends out quite easily. I wore the concealer all day and it still looked as great as it did when I first applied it, no creasing or anything. I recommend setting it with a good under eye power though such as the Laura Mercier Translucent powder.

I don’t have much more to say, I definitely think everyone should pick this product up if you haven’t already (I know I’m a little late). My only con with this product is WHY IS IT NOT AVAILABLE IN CANADA?! I feel like it was difficult to get my hands on so please Tarte, introduce this to Sephora! Other than let, I am loving it. Giving this a 5/5
